This is a special year for OECTA, as it celebrates its 75th anniversary. Throughout the year, Catholic teachers will reflect on the Association’s stellar history of protecting and enhancing workers’ rights, fostering professional development, and strengthening the province’s publicly funded Catholic education system. The festivities will culminate with the 2019 Annual General Meeting, which will be held in Ottawa, where the Association’s Letters Patent were signed in 1944.

“Catholic teachers play an integral role in our society. For 75 years, our Association has been positively contributing to Ontario’s education system and championing the common good,” says Stuart. “It is important to celebrate the successes we have had, while we prepare for the opportunities and challenges of the future.”
