Part 1

Kindergarten Part 1 explores the theoretical foundations, the development of learners, program planning and implementation, assessment, the learning environment, and ethical considerations related to teaching and learning. This course is open to all teachers who have the primary basic qualification.

Part 2

Kindergarten Part 2 explores the theoretical foundations, the development of learners, program planning and implementation, assessment, the learning environment, and ethical considerations related to teaching and learning.

Kindergarten Part 2 is open to all teachers* who have their primary basic qualification and have successfully completed Kindergarten Part 1. In addition, registrants are required to have completed one year of successful teaching experience, certified by a supervisory officer.

*Experience outside of Ontario must be certified by an appropriate supervisory official. Ontario teachers must hold certification by the Ontario College of Teachers in primary/junior education and be in good standing.

Module 2: Loose Parts, Pedagogical Documentation, Assessment and the Professional Learning Community
Module 3: Listening, Reading, Mathematics and Inquiry
Module 4: Differentiating to Meet All Needs
Module 5: Inquiry Project on Assessment

Specialist

Kindergarten Specialist explores the theoretical foundations, the development of learners, program planning and implementation, assessment, the learning environment, and ethical considerations related to teaching and learning.

This course is open to all teachers* who have their primary basic qualification and have successfully completed Kindergarten Parts 1 and 2. In addition, registrants are required to have completed two years of successful teaching experience, with one year in the subject area (Kindergarten), certified by a supervisory officer.

*Experience outside of Ontario must be certified by an appropriate supervisory official. Teachers must hold certification by the Ontario College of Teachers in primary/junior education and be in good standing.
