This site is dedicated to helping kids use media and technology wisely and safely. Sample topics include: what kids are really watching on YouTube; role models for all in celebration of Black History Month; family friendly Oscar nominated movies; and "best of" lists for: movies, games, apps, websites, tv, books, and music for kids.
Companies Committed to Kids (CCK)
Companies Committed to Kids (CCK) resources include nationally televised Public Service Announcements and curricula for children in Kindergarten to Grade 8. The programs are designed to fit with the different learning abilities, styles, and interests of children in primary, junior, and intermediate classrooms, and are aligned with the provincial curriculum. All programs and resources are available free of charge.

Developed for teachers by teachers, this downloadable resource addresses violence in the media and includes integrated lesson plans for elementary and secondary teachers designed to enhance the critical literacy skills of students.

Dave Grossman, an internationally recognized scholar, author, soldier, and speaker, shares info on the field of human aggression and the roots of violence and violent crime.
MediaSmarts (formerly known as Media Awareness Network) offers resources and support for everyone interested in media literacy and digital literacy for young people. Teachers can access lesson plans, classroom activities, background articles, and Canadian resources for media education.
