The PD department is partnering with the National Film Board (NFB) to offer Film Clubs throughout the year. These 90-minute online sessions will include the viewing of short films curated through the NFB, with aligned classroom resources.

• Thursday, January 14 4:30–6:00 p.m.

  Celebrating Black Excellence Through Film

  Get ready for Black History Month with a screening of the education cut of King's Court, alongside an exploration of the accompanying King's Court Playbook for Success. You'll leave with engaging films, interactive learning resources, and practical classroom ideas that celebrate Black excellence, leadership, identity, and belonging well beyond the month of February.

  Films That Foster Mental Health and Well-Being

  Discover a thoughtfully curated collection of award-winning NFB animated films that spark meaningful conversations about mental health, resilience, empathy, and emotional well-being, including Maybe Elephants - NFB. Leave with classroom-ready resources and discussion strategies to support Mental Health Awareness Week, and to nurture student well-being all year long.

  Celebrating 2SLGBTQIA+ Voices Through Film

  Celebrate Pride Month with a curated selection of powerful NFB films that amplify 2SLGBTQIA+ voices, experiences, and stories of belonging, including I Like Girls - NFB. Explore thoughtful discussion guides and classroom resources that will help you foster inclusive learning environments while also discovering additional Indigenous resources for National Indigenous History Month in June.

  Indigenous Voices for Truth and Reconciliation

  Prepare for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation with an inspiring introduction to Indigenous Voices, the National Film Board of Canada's new interactive resource developed alongside Indigenous educators, advisors, and youth from across Canada. Explore powerful film clips, classroom-ready activities, and practical teaching strategies that will help you lead meaningful conversations with confidence throughout the school year.
