Plan, Play, Pray: Preparing for the New Kindergarten Curriculum

Ready for the new Kindergarten curriculum? Join your Catholic teacher colleagues for a hands-on one-day summer institute focused on how to weave systematic, explicit instruction into a responsive and intentional play-based environment that is responsive to all learners. Participants will leave with classroom-ready ideas and renewed confidence to get their Kindergarten program off to a great start.
The full-day session will highlight:

  • New Kindergarten curriculum 2026
  • Play-based instruction with intentional learning goals
  • Inclusive practices that affirm identities and equitable outcomes for all learners
  • Reflective practice with documentation that matters
  • Faith‑centered Kindergarten curriculum

 
These full-day Learning Institutes will run between 9:30am-3:30pm. Lunch will be provided. Registered participants are expected to attend for the full day.
 

Session Dates and Locations

Northeast Region - Tuesday, August 11 
Sault Ste Marie, Delta Hotel, 208 St. Mary’s River Drive
This session is open to Catholic teachers from the Huron-Superior, Nipissing, Northeastern, and Sudbury units.
 
East Region – Thursday, August 13
Ottawa, Sheraton Hotel, 150 Albert Street
This session is open to Catholic teachers from the Algonquin Lakeshore, Eastern, Ottawa, PVNC, and Renfrew units.
 
Southwest Region – Tuesday, August 18
London, Four Points Hotel, 1150 Wellington Road South
This session is open to Catholic teachers from the Brant Haldiman Norfolk, Bruce-Grey, Huron-Perth, London District, St. Clair, Waterloo, Wellington, and Windsor-Essex units.
 
Northwest Region – Tuesday, August 20
Thunder Bay, Delta Hotel, 2240 Sleeping Giant Parkway
This session is open to Catholic teachers from the Kenora, Northwest, Superior North, and Thunder Bay units.

GTA Regional – Tuesday, August 25
Richmond Hill, Sheraton Parkway North Hotel, 600 Hwy 7
This session is open to Catholic teachers from the Dufferin-Peel, Durham, Halton, Hamilton, Niagara, Simcoe-Muskoka, St. Michaels College, York, and Toronto units.
 
Virtual session – Wednesday, August 26
This session is open to all Catholic teachers.
 
Registration opens the week of May 25 and will close June 22.

Register

Spaces are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Sessions with insufficient registration will be cancelled and registrants will be notified.
 
Registered participants are eligible to receive a travel subsidy of up to a maximum of $200. No additional expenses will be reimbursed.
