Beginning Teachers Conference
We believe it is important to support members who are beginning their professional lives, as well as their involvement in the union. Our Beginning Teachers Conference provides a professional development opportunity to approximately 200 members who are in the first ten years of their teaching careers.
The Beginning Teachers Conference, which is part of the RISE Professional Development and Training program, offers two days of discussion, networking, and valuable information that participants can use in their classrooms and beyond. Participants will participate in a number of workshops and plenary sessions, exploring topics ranging from "equity in the classroom," to "learning to say no," and "understanding your collective agreement."
This year’s conference will take place October 13-15 at the Sheraton Parkway Hotel in Richmond Hill.
Speak to your local unit president if you are interested in participating.
When: 10 a.m. Thursday, October 13 to noon Saturday, October 15
