Mathematics, Grades 7 & 8
Minimum Requirements:
- Member of OECTA in good standing.
- Knowledge and understanding of The Ontario Curriculum Grades 1-8: Mathematics, 2020.
- Knowledge and understanding of The Ontario Curriculum: Secondary, Mathematics, Grade 9, 2021.
- Flexible, open learning stance.
- Willingness to work with a team.
- Understanding of how to create and implement culturally relevant and responsive pedagogy in the classroom from an anti-oppression framework.
Additional Assets:
- Experience teaching in both elementary and secondary panels.
- Knowledge and understanding of Special Education in Ontario.
- Knowledge and understanding of English language learners.
- Knowledge of Ontario’s Equity and Inclusive Education Strategy.
- Understanding of members’ needs in the context of a modern, compassionate, and developing faith.
- Knowledge of technology and learning platforms used to build and curate content, discussion, and artefacts.
- Knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code, the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, the Safe Schools Act, the Accepting Schools Act, the Ontarians with Disabilities Act, the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA), and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
