Second Vice-President - Anthony Rocchio
Anthony Rocchio (He/Him) is currently serving his third term as Second Vice-President on the Provincial Executive for the 2025–2027 term. Previously, he served as a Councillor from 2015 to 2018, Third Vice-President from 2019 to 2021, and Second Vice-President from 2021 to 2025.
With over 25 years of experience in education, Anthony works as the Special Education Consultant for Sudbury Catholic Schools. His professional background includes roles as a classroom teacher, Resource Teacher (SERT), Elementary ELL/MLL teacher, and various special assignment positions. This broad experience equips him with deep insight into the day-to-day realities educators face, including curriculum changes, IEP implementation, and supporting educator well-being.
As a proud Catholic teacher, Anthony is a passionate supporter of publicly funded Catholic education. He remains committed to advocating for a system that uplifts both students and educators while preserving the core values of Catholic education within the public system.
A strong proponent of collective voice and unity, Anthony listens closely to the concerns of educators across the province. He works diligently to ensure their voices are heard and champions improved resources, fair policies, and ongoing professional learning. Anthony was a member of the Central Bargaining Team during the most recent round of provincial negotiations and will continue in that role for the upcoming round of collective bargaining, demonstrating his continued commitment to representing and advocating for educators at the bargaining table.
Anthony’s dedication to student achievement and teacher advocacy is further reflected in his long-standing leadership within the Sudbury Elementary Unit, where he has held positions such as Councillor, Treasurer, First Vice-President, and Chief Negotiator.
Outside of his professional commitments, Anthony enjoys quality time with his family, traveling, staying active, and nurturing his love for reading and lifelong learning.
